It’s this belief that first inspired Tony Smits to bring his talents and experience to the growing community of Waterdown, Ontario. In 2014, Tony and a partner opened Smits Groves LLP. After many shared successes, Tony went on to open Smits Law in 2019. With a practical, professional, down-to-earth approach, Tony’s built a solid reputation as the go-to lawyer for real estate law, wills and estates law, and commercial and corporate law in Waterdown, Ontario.

GET TO KNOW TONY SMITS
Anthony (Tony) Smits grew up in the Town of Cobourg, Ontario and currently lives in Burlington, Ontario.
Tony completed his LL.B. at the University of Windsor. During this time, he participated in the community legal services program and Pro Bono Students Canada. He was also a member of the Environmental Law Society. Prior to earning his law degree, he earned a Joint Honours degree in History and Political Science at the University of Ottawa.
Following his Call to the Bar, Tony worked for a number of years with a prominent law firm in Hamilton. In 2014, he and a partner brought their expertise to Waterdown, Ontario, where they opened Smits Grove LLP. They earned four consecutive “Readers’ Choice” awards in the Flamborough Review. Today, Tony continues to serve the Waterdown community at his new practice Smits Law.
In his spare time, Tony enjoys soccer, volleyball, hiking, attending local trivia nights and photography.
